Hae-Yoon Jung's golf story began at age 9 in Korea. At 15, she left for Australia's Kooralbyn International School to pursue the sport and learn English. She went on to compete on the UC Irvine women's golf team and turned professional, playing on the Futures Tour.
She joined Pelican Hill Golf Club in 2008 and earned her PGA membership in 2009. After two decades of developing golfers of all levels — from First Tee beginners to Fortune 500 executives — she made history in 2025 as the first Asian woman to earn the PGA Master Professional designation, the highest honor in American golf instruction.
2005
Began teaching career. Coached for First Tee of San Diego and served as Site Director for LPGA-USGA Girls Golf.
2009
Earned full PGA of America membership after joining Pelican Hill Golf Club as Assistant Golf Professional in 2008.
2016
Achieved PGA Certified Professional status in Teaching and Coaching — an advanced designation held by a select group of PGA Members.
2025
Became the 454th PGA Member and 13th woman — and the very first Asian woman — to earn the PGA Master Professional designation.

GLIC connects junior golfers from different high schools into one community — to practice, compete, volunteer, and grow together. Through Youth GLIC, student-athletes lead tournaments, earn scholarships, and give back to the game that shapes them.
Student-athletes take the lead. Youth GLIC members organize events, mentor younger players, and run a Youth Board — developing real leadership skills through golf.
Inclusive tournaments for all skill levels — not just the elite. From youth-only championships to intergenerational Pinehurst-format events pairing seniors and juniors. Up to 6 events per year.
GLIC awards scholarships to deserving junior golfers who demonstrate dedication, sportsmanship, and community involvement — supporting their journey both on the course and in the classroom.
From course marshals to event coordinators, GLIC volunteers are the backbone of every tournament. Students earn community service hours while learning teamwork, responsibility, and the spirit of giving back.
